General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
The reports for credible news organizations appear to be missing from your post. Surely you are not putting forth NPR or the AP as credible news sources?
They seem to be part of the suppression campaign. The whistle blower on the Biden Crime family was on tv tonight. It is pretty devastating with corroboration of what the Senate report says and also the evidence from the Hunter Biden laptop which the FBI hid during impeachment. Biden lied about not being involved in the family business. There are texts and emails and pictures to corroborate pretty much everything.

There's no evidence of widespread voter fraud and there never has been. Republicans trying to stop minorities from voting, on the other hand? There are actual court cases showing that this is true.
Friendly reminder that after Trump claimed that between 3 and 5 million illegal votes were cast in 2016, he put together a voting integrity commission to report on voter fraud. After several months, they quietly disbanded after having found no widespread voter fraud. The Heritage Foundation then tried to investigate voter fraud, and found fewer than 2,000 cases over the past 38 years. It's just another lie that conservatives use to stoke hate and prevent minorities from voting.
The Democratic governors refused to cooperate with the commission. It was disbanded because of stonewalling not because there was no fraud.

It is not clear to me that Trump will lose in the Electoral College (Though he is definitely going to lose the general popular vote). Victor's numbers seem quite possible, though I think Biden can do somewhat better on electoral college votes. It takes 270 electoral college votes to get elected, no?
I had not been aware of the "stealing electoral votes" issue raised by Bob Gillanders.....that a Republican State government can over-ride the majority democratic vote directing the state's electoral votes to the Democrats........this seems really quite crazy.....hard to believe it is legal......and the state electors would go bananas - but to get a President elected from the same party, I guess a state government might be crazy enough to do it.
Should Trump again win, against the popular vote, the Democrats/Non-partisan progressives will go crazy.

No Republican governor would do that. The Supreme Court ruled on faithless electors and it would wind up in the Supreme Court and that portion of the result would be overturned 9-0.
Biden is going to lose though. When you have more Trump voters honking horns outside of a Biden rally than you have Biden supporters, it is not looking good for the candidate that the giant billionaires, media and social media are investing in. They are doing a great job of suppressing the information from Hunter's hard drive though the videos circulating from the laptop leave nothing to the imagination with regard to who the laptop belongs to.
Okay, so an update on my forecast. To recap, I am convinced Biden wins a free and fair election.
Well Biden has his "extensive voter fraud organization" which he accidentally said out loud letting the cat out of the bag.
Some have said that Biden may be able to win Pennsylvannia with voter fraud. Democrats are trying to keep scrutineers out of the vote counting. They are trying to prevent voter ID. They want to force ballot harvesting across the USA. They want to validate mail in ballots where signatures do not match. So it looks like Biden really does have an extensive voter fraud organization.

Okay, so an update on my forecast. To recap, I am convinced Biden wins a free and fair election. But obviously, that is not what we have. We have polls: however, you want to read or handicap them, then you have some wild cards (shenanigans at the post office, state legislature interference) plus the usual voter suppression tactics. So how do you do any forecast with confidence?
From my previous “Biden will win” column, delete Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and 1 vote from Maine, you then get an ultra-conservative list of states with at least an 8 point lead for Biden – 242 votes.
lol - yes, you did read that - as written and as intended. Vlad must think nearly everyone here is a complete fool.
Oh well. I think I will take a break from this place until after Nov.4 or so - in any case by then all the Magats will have cleared out of Dodge
or there will be no reason to ever come back - a win-win situation as far as I am concerned.
Never seen such garbage.
Inspiring!
