  • Bohatirchuk game

Came across the following in Chess Life, 20 December 1949. The Log Cabin Chess Club of New Jersey went on tour in the summer of 1949 and played team matches in various cities. On the weekend of July 30/31 they drew 3-3 with an Ottawa team which included the newly arrived Fedor Bohatirchuk; as far as I can tell this game is not in general circulation:

A good one for Ruy Lopez fans. Nice tactics along the E and D - files (13.e5 and 14,Nd6+)

Thanks for this,Stephen Just another reminder of how strong Dr. Bohatirchuk was, even at age 57. This must have been one of his first games in Canada, although I think he did play the Canadian Championship that same year, 1949.
