I watched this in Icelandic. I thought I was back in the real world.
That feeling must have been wonderful. I certainly wont take normality for granted in the future.
I met Gudmundur Kjartansson in St Louis at the Spice Cup and shared a plane ride back with him.

https://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1816255 Its nice to see this game was played back in 1860. How amateurs do it for the love of chess. A flawed game but huge entertainment. May it make your day as it did mine.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...bein_Alexander Black in this game runs his rook pawn and eventually sacrifices both rook pawns. The computer likes it and black has pressure for a long time but I was left scratching my head. Its too sophisticated for me.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...-Svidler_Peter From the world cup 2021, final 16. Sam Shankland plays 3.h4 and the rook pawn doesnt move again until move 22 but is then instrumental in keeping the black king uncomfortable.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...ta-Studer_Noel Kamsky plays both rook pawns forward and makes them both work the position (a rarity)
                      Interesting sparring along the way.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...niuk_Alexandra All the rook pawns are well used (and abused) in this game.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...Mohammed_Aayan See how Mickey does it. He uses both his rook pawns in different but active ways. Simple elegance. Humorously Black's rook pawns are both passed in the end but meaningless.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021..._L-Khoury_Theo Lovely game where you see the role of the rook pawns in the Sicilian and the white queens rook pawn ends up winning the game.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...er-Lei_Tingjie Black's queens rook pawn looked threatening for a while but its White's queen rook pawn that wins the game for White as it provides a hidey hole for the king. Wild game.

https://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2021...-Svidler_Peter Its amazing what mischief White can get up to with the pawn on h6 and the open long diagonal. Picturesque position with the white bishop on g7 and the black knight on e8 (the bishop of course untouchable). Brilliant win for MVL.
