Bator won his first game with black, lost his 2nd with white. On tiebreak (10 + 3) he won his first game with white, lost his 2nd with black. In his last game Armageddon Bator played with white and had 5 min, his opponent had 4. Extra 2 sec/ move added after move 60. White has to win to advance to the next round.

Bator got an absolutely winning position, but lost on time on move 56 ... Just 4 more moves. Very sad.

*ugh* I thought tie-break games were the next day and stopped watching after yesterday's game-2 loss.

Thanks for explaining the T/C Victor, I was confused as to how he could possibly lose on time with increment play.

Actually, the bigger advantage for white in Armageddon game is not exactly the "first move" advantage, but more time (5 versus 4). I am not sure if "draw advantage" for black is large enough to fully compensate these 2 advantages for white.
