This quote:" Failures (échecs) allows us to improve" comes after reading a google-translate of a Quebecois chess organizer's website where we are being invited to participate in a TOURNAMENT OF PRACTICAL FAILURES!!!!!

Is the result of a mistranslation from the french. The word échecs means failures and it also means chess.

Neil, do you still recall the perfectly clean "mise en échec" that Pat Quinn layed on Bobby Orr that time? Quinn had his elbow tucked to his side in a gentlemanly manner, not pointed out, and if anyone should have gotten a charging penalty it was Orr who was skating forward. Quinn wasn't skating by that time, he was simply bracing himself for the hit. Orr should have been watching where he was going. (Although I also recall that the final score in the game was Boston 10, Leafs 0.)
