Game Two Kosteniuk has played with the draw in mind but the position is trickier than it first looks. Several times Kosteniuk has had to play "only" moves but so far she has found them and is doing well.

    What should White play here?

Aleksandra Goryachkina finds the winning plan and looks set to take the lead in the Women's #FIDEWorldCup final match!

But after 36.Nf7+ Kosteniuk is right back in the game!

If Alexandra Kosteniuk finds 40...Kg6! she'll have reached the time control with great winning chances!

And she did! An incredibly dramatic game for such a high-stakes moment

Goryachkina is trying to avoid playing the Rook vs. Rook + Bishop ending but as Magnus pointed out yesterday re: Mishra and Svidler repeated today, that's the way to lose! Currently Kosteniuk has a winning position

Kosteniuk is now (still) winning, but Jan & Peter point out that not seeing 58...Ra6! here gives hope for Goryachkina that her opponent doesn't see the clear win:

But Alexandra Kosteniuk gets a 2nd chance to play the winning Ra6 and she takes the lead in the Women's #FIDEWorldCup final! Aleksandra Goryachkina now needs to hit back on demand with Black tomorrow

It took a few moments for Alexandra Kosteniuk to realise that an incredible rollercoaster game was finally over!

Peter Svidler and Jan Gustafsson are commentating on both the Open and Women’s Cup. Peter likes to get up and walk around after a move when he is playing and he cannot believe that Goryachkina can sit hour after hour looking at the board without getting up.

Game one of the finals. Bizarre game but a real fight! (which is what I like to see). White starts out controlling the C-file but Black uses pawn levers and tactics to get a passed C-pawn! White strips Black's king position naked but Black puts whites king into a bind. Who will deliver the coup de grace?
