Event Description
This is an online CFC Rapid-rated tournament to be played on chess.com in two sections. Pairings will be done using CFC Active Ratings. To be eligible for cash prizes, you must sign on to zoom during your games using the links to be provided upon registration:
When: Saturday, July 17, 2021. First Round starts at 10:00 AM on Saturday
Where: Online on chess.com/live
Format: 5 Round Swiss, CFC Active Rated. CFC or FQE membership is required for Canadian players and FIDE or USCF ID required for others.
Round Times: Rd 1 – 10 AM; Rd 2 – 11:30 AM; Rd 3 – 1:30 PM; Rd 4 – 3:00 PM; Rd 5 – 4:30 PM;
Sections: OPEN and U1300 (Note: We may only have a section if we don’t have enough registered participants for two sections. We may also have more sections based on registered participants)
Time Controls: 15 mins plus 10-sec increments – All Sections
Byes: Only two byes allowed. 1/2 points for rounds 1 to 4. Zero-point by for round 5.
The byes MUST be requested in advance during registration. We cannot guarantee that byes will be accepted during the tournament.
Registration Fees
$10 All Sections pre-registration. $15 after Friday, July 16, 2021. Registration closes at 9 AM on Saturday, July 17, 2021

TOURNAMENT PRIZES – 50% of total registration fees collected will be distributed as Cash Prizes.
