  • Age 87 Chess Life Begins Anew

What do you do when you're 87 years old and your game goes dry? You look at games of Tal, and start attacking! Hearty congratulations Tony! (pictures taken at Victoria Park, Kitchener, Ontario)

Tony plays every day (when its not raining) in the park, at least 3 hours, during the summer. Its a good habit and keeps him feeling young.

I read this quote today and had to share: " I believe that one of the strongest motives that leads men to art and science (and chess) is escape from everyday life with its painful crudity and hopeless dreariness, from the fetters of one's own ever shifting desires. A finely tempered nature longs to escape from personal life into the world of objective perception and thought; this desire may be compared with the townsman's irresistible longing to escape from his noisy, cramped surroundings into the silence of the high mountains, where the eye ranges freely through the still, pure air and fondly traces out the restful contours apparently built for eternity." - Albert Einstein
So when is your next chess game?
