• Wednesday, March 30 – Sunday, April 3, 2022
• 5484 Tomken Road, Unit 34, Mississauga, ON L4W 2Z6 (Wednesday to Friday)
• Sandman Signature Mississauga Hotel, 5400 Dixie Road, Mississauga, Ontario L4W 1E6 (Saturday to Sunday)

Section & Format

• Invitational Section (With expected minimum average rating of opponents of 2230)
• 9 Round Robin – CFC and FIDE rated

Time Control

• 90 mins plus 30 sec increment

Tournament Schedule

• Wed – Rd 1 7 PM; Thu – Rd 2 11 AM & Rd 3 7 PM; Fri – Rd 4 11 AM & Rd 5 7 PM; Sat – Rd 6 11 AM & Rd 7 7 PM; Sun – Rd 8 10 AM & Rd 9 3 PM

Conditions for participating Players

• $500 in appearance fees offered to GM/IM (No hotel accommodation) OR $300 in appearance fees offered to GM/IM with hotel accommodation (breakfast included with hotel option)

• $875 plus HST registration fees for Norm Seekers and other participating players. REGISTER HERE
• No byes are allowed
• No forfeits
• Any violation of conditions will result in the bridge of conditions and forfeiture of prize money, where applicable

NOTE: We are working on making this affordable as possible so, the entry fee is likely to reduce as we work with the venue to increase capacity for the main weekend event and seek for sponsorship to offset the cost of this event. By registering for our event, you consent and agree to our Notice of Filming & Photography.

Refund Policy: No cash refunds on withdrawal. Credit for an equal amount will be given if you notify us of withdrawal on or before February 28, 2022. Credits can be used to register for tournaments and other programs offered by Elevate My Chess. The registration fee will be forfeited if you don’t notify us of withdrawals on or before February 28, 2022. However, consideration for credit will be considered in special circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

IM Norm Tournament Scheduled for March 30 to April 3 Is Now Cancelled


We are sad to cancel this scheduled event as we were unable to secure a commitment for the remaining 2 spots for IM Norm seekers. We're now planning to run two of these events in the Summer. The tentative dates are:

First event: June 29th to July 3rd

Second event: July 20th to 24th

Both events will be in Ontario, one in Mississauga and we plan to have one in Niagara Falls. Details will be finalized in the coming weeks. For now, if you're interested in participating, simply email Ken at ken@elevatemychess.com.
