The Canadian Chess Hall of Fame Committee consists of Larry Bevand, Hugh Brodie, Ian Findlay, Stephen Wright and myself. We were the choices of David Cohen to carry on his legacy in conjunction with CMA who are paying for the plaques to be presented to all new inductees.
I earlier announced the Class of 2021. They were Annabelle Lougheed-Freedman, Henry Roy, and Stanley Wilson. They were selections we voted in based on a number of left-over nominations from David, prior to his death. I'll circle back to them in a later post. They will posthumously be awarded with their plaques later this year.
The committee gave consideration to everyone whose name was presented to us by the deadline we had posted earlier. I think we had close to 30 names we looked at. For this year, I would say everyone considered was from the modern-era of Canadian Chess (ie 1972 forward). We narrowed it down to 10 finalists. Voting took place, and anyone receiving 75% or more of the votes (ie 4 or more) were considered elected. As a result of the vote, there will be 4 new members for 2022. I will be announcing these people IN RANDOM ORDER over the course of the next few days.
All existing members of the Canadian Hall of Fame can be found at David's Canadian History Web site

Ian Findlay has created a Facebook page, that we'll be using for news until such time as we can create a brand new website
