  • A Grand Slam for a Grand Young Man

Congratulations and accolades to IM Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux for his grand slam performance in Hamilton this year. He warmed up with a perfect score to become the Canadian U18 Open Champion. Then he won the Canadian Open Blitz championship. On Saturday night he decided at the last minute to play in the Inaugural World Hostage Chess Championship, where he again amassed a perfect score ahead of the favourites IM Mark Plotkin and FM Andrew Peredun. On Sunday he held a tough ending against GM Bator Sambuev enroute to a 7.5 score and a share of first place at the Canadian Open. Simply superlative!!
