  • Bennett Paul - Toronto junior in the early 70's - what happened to him?

Someone mentioned the name Bennett Paul to me, saying they had played him in the early 70's when he was an up-and-coming junior. His last tournament in my database was the Toronto Closed 1980, in which he finished last. We are both wondering what happened to him - I had heard suicide, and I hope I'm wrong.

Can anyone confirm, or do they know about his post-1980 life? Nothing shows up on a Google search.

He died of a heart attack. His brother also died young of a heart attack. He had more talent at bridge than chess. He taught me a lot about bridge and I would give him some chess lessons in return. He must have been in his early thirties, but not sure.
