EMC APRIL 2023 MINI CHESS TOURNAMENT
This is an EMC mini-tournament in 3 sections with a capacity limit of 44 players. Registration will close as soon as we reach capacity.

When: Saturday, April 1 – Sunday, April 2, 2023
Where: 5484 Tomken Road, Unit 34 (GMS Professional Corporation), Mississauga, Ontario L4W 2Z6
Format
Type: 5 Round Swiss. CFC rated & FIDE rated for Over 2000; U2000 & U1500. CFC membership is required. No Play ups allowed.
Sections: O-2000, U-2000, and U-1500 (Note: If we don’t have sufficient players in the top sections, we may have a round-robin with the top 6 players in the top sections and/or make other changes as required in the other sections to make the event and pairings more practical. With the round-robin, players agree to play all 5 rounds or forfeit their games).
Round Times
Rounds on Saturday 9:30 AM, 2 PM & 6 PM; Sunday 10am & 2:30 PM
Time Controls
1.5 hrs + 30 secs increment – All Sections
Byes
1/2 points for rounds 1 to 4 (All sections)
The byes MUST be requested in advance during registration.
Only 2 byes allowed

Note: Total prize pool of $1,200 is based on a minimum of 40 registered players (Prizes may be reduced proportionately based on the number of registered players)
O-2000: 1st – $300; 2nd – $200; 3rd – $100
U-2000: 1st – $200; 2nd – $100; 3rd – $80
U-1500: 1st – $100; 2nd – $70; 3rd – $50
Rating: The latest highest of CFC / USCF / FQE / (FIDE + 100 pts) to be used.

Refund Policy
No cash refunds on withdrawal. Credit for an equal amount will be given if you notify us of withdrawal on or before Mar 20, 2023. Credits can be used to register for tournaments and other programs offered by Elevate My Chess. The registration fee will be forfeited if you don’t notify us of withdrawals before Mar 20, 2023. However, consideration for credit will be considered in special circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
