On another note, the simul with IM Mark Plotkin will be free for all on a first come-first serve basis. With the new received entries we were able to waive the fee for this, so everyone can get a chance to learn from a former Ontario Champion :)

Entries have been updated. We are now approaching 100.
As concerns the Sunday simul with IM Mark Plotkin, a decision has been made to waive the $10 entry fee. Boards in the simul will be available to OCYCC participants on a first come, first served basis.

Growing up, it was always fun to play in the Ontario Championships, as it was the only serious time control tournament for kids apart from CYCC. The only problem for folks in Toronto was the distance, as we had to get on a train and stay at a hotel for considerable cost. We're hoping that having the tourney in Richmond Hill this year will help players nearby, and remind kids that blitz isn't the only way to get better :)
