Rd 9 Game to watch - well actually all three top boards but especially Noritsyn - Plotkin.

Noritsyn has won in the endgame.

Sambuev played a nice squeeze on the king and the queen as black's queen got trapped. Sambuev wins.

Shawn Rodrigue-Lemieux opponent Vincent Latorre played very well but in the end hung a piece so Shawn wins.

The championship will be decided by tie breaks

I did a little research (mainly Stephen Wright's excellent site bc chess history) and this is Nikolay Noritsyn's second win of the Canadian championship. The first was 2007 in Kitchener when he was only 16 and I was privileged to witness that playoff between Jean Hebert, Ron Livshits, Artiom Samsonkin, and Nikolay. 16 years ago, nice chess number. Actually it seems Nikolay always has to win it the hard way. Playoffs and tie breaks - hard on the nerves. Also there should have been a third in 2017 when he was robbed of the title in the playoffs.
