  • Brief story on chess on CBC radio

    https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio...aissance-chess.

Reasonably decent - talks about the history of chess, the rise during the pandemic and streamers, and then a bit about new chess clubs in Ontario including the one in Barrie which had their first meeting recently. I'm sure you'll all be crushed to hear my segment was left on the cutting room floor :D

There was a chess club in Barrie some years ago......I never went......it was run by two brothers who were twins, I think (Can't remember their names).

The one from Barrie (Pekka) is. There was also a story about the club on the local news: https://barrie.ctvnews.ca/new-club-a...thly-1.6449546

I played in a CFC active tournament in Barrie. It was won by an old man, former Junior Champion Ross Siemms.
