  • Alice Lee didnt need to attack the king. She played positionally and traded into an easily winning endgame and won.

      • Sam Sevian finshed off with all pieces coordinated, threatening all sorts of attacks and Tang resigned.

          • Mishra clearly outplayed Aronian in the late middlegame and endgame. The kid is impressive.

            • What an incredible surprise in the women's! Both Yip and Tokhirjonova fell apart in their last round games and lost. Carissa Yip wins the champoionship by virtue of being the leader by half a point going into the last round.

                • Last round. In the position above Alice Lee didnt win by kingside attack but by lovely indepth defensive moves and trading off key opponent pieces. Here she played Bxh7+ and Qxf4

                  • Irina Krush must have been disappointed in her result. True she had some satisfaction from beating Tokhirjonova but she really didnt have any chances for first in the last half of the tournament.

                    • Alice Lee had an impressive result. +4 and third place. She should also go over 2400 and get the IM title.

                        • The most amazing result was from Mishra. A tie for second with Wesley So and Lenier Dominguez! 6.5 out of 11 (+2) and a 2750 performance (second best next to Caruana). He was tied with Caruana for the most wins in the championship with 5 and just missed in a couple of other games. He will go well over 2600 and is only 14 years old! What a future!
