  • "Champions Chess" in Toronto starting Dec. 9?

I have heard no news about this event ($500k) from Canadian sources to be held in Toronto Dec. 9-16 ("8 of the best players in the world"). Nothing on the CFC site It looks like you can't see the players live - only broadcast in a bar with the Chessbrahs ( Belfast Love 548 King St W)
and only on Dec. 15 and 16 ($36.50).

What do you Torontonians know about this?

Last year chess.com held another big event in Toronto and it also had no "live" component: no spectators, no tie-in events.
This year seems to be the same. It's basically an online tournament where the players are all in the same room to prevent cheating or disconnections.

The games are being playing with real sets and boards.
