Details of the Tournament
Date: February 11, March 10 & April 7, 2024 (Sunday)
Time: 1:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: Maverick Learning Center @ 1020 Denison St. Suite 205, Markham, ON L3R 3W5
Target: Students Grade K to 12 (Age 4-20) who love playing chess*
*If you do not have a CFC ID, you can register here. For players under 20 years old, NO annual membership fee is required. If you do not have a CMA ID, just fill in N/A. An ID will be assigned onsite.
Schedule: 5 Rounds in total | 1st round starting at 1:30 PM | Refreshments are provided
Sections: Under 8 | Under 10 | Under 12 | Under 14 | Under 16 | Under 18
Rating: The tournament will be rated by CFC & CMA
Time Control: Game in 25 minutes plus 5 seconds delay per move (Bronstein)
Entry Fee: $45 for one tournament | $85 for two tournaments | $120 for three tournaments
All players must complete the online Registration Form or use the QR code below with full payment. No on-site registration.
Payment Method:

(2) Cash – in person during our working hours Mon – Fri 11 AM – 8 PM & Sat 10 AM – 8 PM

Introduction of OCC and CYCC
Canadian Youth Chess Championship (CYCC):
July 9-12th 2024, Laval, QC
According to the requirement from the Chess Federation of Canada, any players who would like to attend the 2024 Canadian Youth Chess Championship need to be qualified before applying. So, the top 3 players in each age group of each qualification (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18) will be qualified for CYCC.
Ontario Chess Challenge (OCC):
Apr 21st 2024, Mississauga, ON
For OCC qualification, this tournament is open to all players from Kindergarten through grade 12 and the top 10 percent per grade qualify for Ontario Chess Challenge 2024.
