As we step into February, the Excelsior Chess Club is delighted to announce a series of great chess tournaments and events. Each one is carefully crafted to provide a mix of competitive excitement, prestigious awards, and an experience you won't forget. Here's what we have planned:

1. Excelsior February 3rd Blitz Championship
Date: February 3, 2024
Rapid-fire action for quick thinkers
Entry Fee: $25 (Free entries available for specific categories)
Format: 3 minutes + 2 seconds a move, 11 Rounds Swiss

2. Excelsior February 4th Juniors Qualifier
Date: February 4 and 18, 2024
A platform for young chess talents
Entry Fee: $35 (Discounts available)
Format: 5 Round Swiss

3. Excelsior February Evenings Chess
STARTS ON TUESDAY FEB 6, 2024 @ 7PM and continues on Feb 6, 13, 20, 27 @ 7pm, and March 5 @ 7pm.
Evening chess sessions for all levels
Unique format and setting
Entry Fee:$20 Entry Fee +many discounts

4. Excelsior February FIDE & CFC Rating Builder
Date: February 10-11, 2024
Opportunity to improve FIDE & CFC ratings
Entry Fee: $30 (Free entries for eligible players)
Format: Multiple sections based on ratings

5. Excelsior February Rapid Championship
Date: February 17, 2024
Fast-paced and strategic play
Entry Fee: $25 (Free entries for specific categories)
Format: 10 minutes + 10 seconds a move, 6 Round Swiss

6. Excelsior February Open Championship
Date: February 23-25, 2024
Open to all skill levels
Entry Fee: $90 (Discounts available)
Format: 90 minutes + 30 seconds a move
Prizes: Total Prize Fund of $4,500 based on 100 paid entries

7. March Break Chess Camp Toronto
Date: March 11-15, 2024
Comprehensive chess training and practice
Led by renowned chess instructors BATOR SAMBUEV, SHAWN RODRIGUE LEMIEUX,MIKHAIL EGOROV

Thank you Excelsior Chess Club for these excellent events. I really enjoyed your 1st Anniversary tournament and I hope to play in many more. I have been out of Ontario/Toronto chess politics for many years, but in my day, we would try not to hold tournaments on the same weekend. I notice that Feb 17, there is Hart House Reading week and February Rapid happening on the same day. I guess if there is demand for both tournaments that is great.
