Post 1456 Key move 1.Nc5 This puzzle is inspiring. Note the pure use of all minor pieces. I created another interesting puzzle (the next one) by just moving one knight and the king.
Post 1457 Key move 1.Ne4+, Ke3 2.Nc5, Kd2 3.Kf2, Kc1 4.Nb3 mate. Also 1.Nb3+, Ke3 2.Nc5 Kd2 works. The key is to bring the N to c5. Can you find another variation? There are at least six different variations.
Post 1458 Key move 1.Kf2, Kc1 2.Nb3 mate. What a difference one square makes for the white king! 1.Kf1 also works. 1.Kf1, Ke3 2.Nc4 mate or 1.Kf1, Kc1 2.Nb3 mate.

Post 1438 Key move 1.Kf3, Kh1 2.Kf2 mate. The main variation is only king moves. Even though its only three king moves in total its my first Durbar theme.

Post 1440 Key move 1.Na6+, Kd7 2.Nc5 mate (1.e6, fxe6 2.Nc6 double check, Kd7 3.Rd8 is mate in three. Also 1.d7, Ke7 and no immediate mate)Last edited by Hans Jung; Tuesday, 19th November, 2024, 11:05 AM.
