    • After ten rounds Lei and Tan 6.5 , Goryachkina and Lahno 5.5.

      • Should also mention that Vidit is creeping closer after ten rounds with 5, only one point back of first.

            • Seems Nakamura and Caruana have great chances in the final run. Both will still be playing against leaders - thus with wins they would catch up and overcome them.
However, Gukesh is also stands great - needs to hold on with Naka and Caruana, and bring points against outsiders.
Nevertheless, Nepo could come out of this mess with the best nerves and experience.

              I'm not betting :)

              • Also Nepo has proven he has nine lives (grin). He is the most resourceful player. I like Judith Polgar's comment recently: Nepo is the best defender in the world now.

                  • Judith Polgar actual quote: Nepo can be named the best defender in the world right now.

                    • Rd 11 Pragga got a knight trapped against Nakamura and had to resign. Whatever the reason Nakamura is on a roll having won two straight.

                      • Firoujza won a miniature against Abasov.

                        • Caruana had to bail out with a perpetual against Gukesh.

The Vidit Nepo game should go on for a while. Its an endgame and Nepo has an outside passed pawn but Vidit has slightly better positioning.

                          • Rd 11 Womens Tan keeps making things happen. She squeezed Lahno for a checkmate and is now in the clear lead.
