    AUGUST 24TH & 25TH 2024


    • ROUND 1: 24TH – 10:00 AM
    • ROUND 2: 24TH – 2:00 PM
    • ROUND 3: 24TH – 6:00 PM
    • ROUND 4: 25TH – 10:00 AM
    • ROUND 5: 25TH – 2:00 PM

    Hamilton City Chess Club in collaboration with McMaster Chess Club present:
    Hamilton Summer 2024 Open Tournament
    Location: 45 Hempstead Drive, Hamilton, Ontario (Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre)
    Time control: 60 min with a 30 sec increment
    Format: 5 round Swiss with 3 sections
    Open (CFC & FIDE rated) – Cash prize: $900 (1st), $700 (2nd), $500 (3rd)
    U1800 (CFC & FIDE rated) – Cash prize & trophies: $400 (1st), $300 (2nd), $200 (3rd)
    U1200 (CFC & FIDE rated) – Cash prize & trophies: $250(1st), $150 (2nd), $100 (3rd)
    Cash prizes are conditional to reaching 120 participants. If not, cash prizes will be based on the number of entrants.
    No worries if you don’t have a FIDE ID! We will make one for you free of charge.
    Parking: Free parking available at the cultural centre, and at nearby businesses.

    Entry Fee
    Regular Entry Fee: $80 early bird, $90 after July 20th, $100 after August 10th (Free entry for IMs and GMs)
    For Current McMaster University Students: $50 early bird, $60 after July 20th, $70 after August 10th
    Must send proof of enrollment at McMaster University for the mentioned discount
    To play up a section: $20, must be within 150 points of rating floor

    Include: Name, CFC #, Section, bye requests, proof of enrollment (if a current student at McMaster University)

        Is the event cancelled? It's still showing up on the CFC events page. Additionally, if the event is proceeding would you happen to know if there's a link to a registration list?
