I really enjoyed the Mishra - Pawar game. Fantastic counter attack by Pawar. Sometimes materialism will get you killed.

The round 3 game between Shawn RL and Ayush ended in a big ouch for Shawn.

This sure is one tough World Junior! Both respected grandmasters Mishra and Shawn RL: had even scores after round 4. Both had to go well into the endgame to win their respective round 5 games and both are mired towards the middle of the pack after round 5.

Shawn RL played a lovely knight endgame in round eight with an underpromotion to a bishop in a stunning final combination! I really enjoyed playing over the game.

In his round 9 game Shawn spotted the knock out 34.Rxf6! to end a nice strategical game in a blaze of glory!

In his round ten game Shawn found the opportune 31...Ne4! (works due to tactics) and the black knight wins the game!

Three consecutive wins by Shawn (although thoroughly enjoyed by me) were not enough to overcome some earlier harsh losses. Defense Shawn! Defense and deep calculation! (although the hardest part in chess to excel at)

Shawn RL finished 15th. A last round win would have given him sixth spot. Congratulations Shawn on a good comeback. This fan enjoyed your games immensely!
