WoW! Aaron is totally dominating the field! I love it when Canada can shine amongst all those American talents and I notice some other great Canadian talent in the field, but Aaaron is the one who is dominating. Hugh congratulations to Aaron Mendes! Will that probably mean the IM title? If so, well deserved!

I remember way back in 1976 (when I was a junior) before there were so many youth championships we had the bicentennial matches between Canada and the US. There were several and some 100 boards. In the one I played in we dominated the Americans. It was a great feeling! - and I was glad when I saw the NAYCC start up because it meant continuity from year to year. Canadians arent always going to shine but this is definitely one of those years. An awesome performance!

His rating was already high enough to receive the title through the normal norm process. He probably saved himself a few months. Amazing potential realized so early.

            Congratulations, Aaron.
