Rd 6 battle between Abdusattarov and Gukesh 16.h4! - tricky! Abdusattarov keeps up the pressure and we have a real battle.
Headed into the endgame, somewhere along the way, Gukesh slips up. I don't think even Gukesh's magical abilities can save him.

Rd 5 Keymer put up stiff resistance in a lost endgame but finally Gukesh cracked him.

Suleymanli vs Yakubboev has been highly entertaining and its still going on! It was a Bb5 Sicilian and things looked normal but then White started shedding pawns like a dog sheds fleas. Total collapse loomed but somehow White lasted into the endgame, but what an endgame! Black has five connected pawns vs a lone pawn, and is up four pawns for a piece. Its a full pawn press coming down on the white king! I have a feeling Black could have finished earlier but he's enjoying himself too much.

Rd 5 In his fight for squares Caruana forgot about the strength of White's potential passed E pawn. Then White used kamikaze pieces to help it advance. Spectatular! Fedoseev pulls off a nice win.

With his win Abdusattarov ties Pragga for first. Both with 4 points out of 5.

And as a result Erwin L'Ami takes over first place with 4 out of 5!

Rd 5 Challengers I didn't know Erwin L'Ami could attack like that. I'm impressed.

Rd 5 Challengers Lu and Bok played a wild Sicilian where both sides had attacks but Lu eventually played more inaccuracies and went down in flames.

Rd 5 Abdusattarov was the first to win as Van Foreest misjudged the combo starting with 20.Nd5. I think he then decided lets keep attacking but Abdusattarov found a picturesque defence by moving the pawns forward around his king and then going for a casual stroll with his king. Great entertaiment!

Rd4 Im enjoying Gukesh's defensive effort against Sarana. He does the little things so well.
