                May - 5th Mon Mash-4 Results

Nina Pasko: That’s an inspiring reflection—May 5th truly marked a symbolic moment of discovery.

After playing in our 2022 Grandpri, Aaron Mendis' meteoric rise from 1200 to over 2400+ in such a short time is nothing short of extraordinary. It speaks volumes about his dedication, natural talent, and perhaps a strong support system guiding him through those rapid stages of development. Becoming the youngest International Master in Canada is an achievement that puts him on the global radar.

As for Nina Pasko, a 11 year old has shown rare brilliance despite currently having no active rating. A regular player in the Russian Club. She is a Prodigy and …. Check for the results at the bottom of https://www.ieagleminds.com/mon-mash.html

                  May - 12th Mon Mash-5 Results

Tournament Recap: Pasko Dominates, New Names Rise

                  Gennadiy Pasko (5/5)

Last week it was daughter Nina Pasko making waves—this week, it’s her father, Gennadiy, who created the real ripples. Scoring a perfect 5/5 in the Open/U1600 section, Gennadiy defeated both tournament favorites from the Open section, earning full honors and making a strong statement.

                  Top-4 Face-Offs
The battles among the top four players were intense. Daniel Giannotti proved his strength by scoring 1.5/2 against the top two players from the Open section, securing 2nd place overall in a hard-fought competition.

                  U1400 Section Highlights
In the U1400 section, Kayra Han Sevinc claimed 1st place, while Nina Pasko followed closely in 2nd. Despite a strong start, Kayra was unable to complete the final two rounds due to a prior commitment, compounded by earlier games running long.

                  Prize Pool Details
The total prize money will be split between the Open/U1600 and U1400 sections.

                      Updates on EM-May19th-MonMash-6

                      May 19th - Mon Mash-6 Results

                      Tournament Highlights
                      Open Section

                      Wajdy Shebetah (5/5)
Wajdy claimed a perfect 5/5 score in the Open Section, securing first place in dominant fashion. He avenged his earlier loss to Shiva with a composed positional victory, showcasing both strategic depth and calm under pressure. We would like to extend our thanks to Wajdy for generously analyzing several games post-event and offering constructive feedback to the younger players—an invaluable learning experience for all involved.

                      Top-2,3 Face-Offs
The battle for the remaining podium spots was fierce. Patrick Buthmann stepped in graciously after the last-minute withdrawal of a key player. His game against Shiva was one of the highlights of the tournament, with momentum swinging like a pendulum. Both players were under severe time pressure, but a small oversight toward the end cost Patrick the win. As a result, Shiva secured 2nd place, and Patrick finished 3rd in a well-fought contest.

                      U1400 / U800 Section
                      Timur Dauletov
In the U1400 category, Timur Dauletov, an unrated player, surprised everyone by clinching 1st place. A true find of the tournament, Timur played fearlessly throughout, including a hard-fought game against Wajdy. With a bit more precision, he might have salvaged a draw—a sign of great potential to come.
Kayra followed closely in 2nd place, demonstrating consistency and resilience across her games.
Nina, faced stiff competition but fought valiantly in every round, ultimately finishing in 3rd place. She received a 50$ gift coupon from Planet Laser for one of her previous Tournament performance

Congratulations to all the participants, and a special thanks to those who contributed to the learning and spirit of the event!
