        REGISTRATION AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

        Details BEFORE NOV 1, PRE-REGISTRATION:

        ● Step 1: CFC membership that expires on or after Nov 2, 2025 is required: You have the option of purchasing a “Single Tournament” instead of a full year CFC membership if your membership is not up to date. 'Single Tournament' prices: $20 for adults, $10 for juniors (under 20). Visit the cfc website, www.chess.ca , for details and renewals/purchases, look under the 'Players' menu at the top of the home page

        ● Step 2: Email the following to Gordon Gooding at miltonchess@hotmail.com :
        ○ Player’s name and CFC membership number (from Step 1).
        ○ An email address (for e-transferring prize money)
        ○ Bye requests for any rounds the player cannot play. Last round zero-point bye only.

        ● Step 3: Send an Interac e-Transfer for the entry fee to miltonchess@hotmail.com
        ○ $80 if received by Oct 18; $100 if received by Oct 19 till Oct 31; $120 cash on Nov 1.
        ○ Include player’s name and CFC number in the transfer’s message.

Cancellation: Contact miltonchess@hotmail.com NOV 1, BEFORE 9:45 AM (ONSITE):
        ● Please try to register before Nov 1. The first morning is already extremely busy.
        ● If you must register onsite on Nov 1, the fee is $120 cash (no credit cards or cheques).
        ○ You may be given a bye for the first round.
        ○ R1 pairings will not be redone for last minute registrations.

        ● Players should check-in between 9:00 am and 9:45 am. NOV 1-2, DURING THE TOURNAMENT:
        ● If you are unable to play a round, notify an organizer or arbiter as soon as possible.
        ○ It is extremely bad form to just not show up for a round. Think of your would-be opponent. He or she paid for and showed up for a game and you just made them sit there waiting for the forfeit. No-shows without a valid excuse will be CFC-rated.

        ● Fair Play / Anti-cheating:
        ○ Electronic devices, including smartphones, must be powered off and placed on the table (or in a backpack as long as that backpack remains at the table). At no time may a player have an electronic device in hand (especially outside the playing room).
        ○ While a game is in progress, parents may not be anywhere near or visible to their child
        ○ Games in progress should not be discussed by anybody. That includes spectators (as their conversation may be overheard). AFTER NOV 2, AFTER THE TOURNAMENT:
        ● All cash prizes will be paid by e-transfer. Cash will not be onsite (sorry, armed robbers)

                    Hi all,

Just a reminder that if you recently purchased or renewed your cfc membership, it may not show up right away updated on the cfc website. To avoid confusion, if you recently have done so, can you please when registering send a snapshot of your cfc renewal page showing your name, cfc number and date of purchase of membership. This would help me out greatly.
