Hi all, getting some registration updated later this evening. I got someone coming from Buffalo. I think another from Sudbury. I wonder who is traveling the farthest distance to come and play. If you think you are traveling a distance farther than Buffalo or Sudbury, put it in a post here. Who is the closest to the tournament site, let us know! Don't forget Nov 02 you get an extra hour of sleep!

Updated the registration list again. Entry fee is now $100 until Oct 31. It goes up to $120 on game day. If you sign up before Oct 20, you will save $5 on your entry fee to the groundhog gambit tourney in Feb next year.

I will be updating the list later today.. It seems there are a couple of players from the Eastern part of Canada joining in on the fray on Nov 01 and 2nd.

We got visitors from Nova Scotia playing in Hamilton, cool! Anyone further than Nova Scotia want to join? Only $100 to enter by Oct 31.

I took a snapshot of the list for those who get the $5 discount for the Groundhog Gambit tourney next Feb.

Entry fee is still only $100 until Thursday. Then it goes up to $120. Halloween is the day before. Just make sure you get a good night sleep before game day (or bring your spoils from the night before to give that energy you're gonna need on game day ;)

Good morning, Gord. Check your emails.

We decided last night to extend the early bird price of $ 80 until Oct 31.

For Blue Jay fans, it is possible game 7 if needed would be Saturday night.

If so, no doubt there will be some round 3 byes.

If this is your first time to an over the board chess tournament, you may be required to write your moves down using a scoresheet. We will provide the scoresheets and pens, but you still have to know how to keep score. You can learn this on youtube, etc. Look for 'algabreic chess notation'
