    • Maurizzi won a dominating endgame after nice middlegame sacrifices. The Irish center, of course, just got in the way causing Black defensive trouble.

      • In the Masters Abdusattarov is supreme in the lead with 4.5 out of 6. Sindarov has 4. Fedoseev and Niemann have fallen back with 3.5 each. Keymer has slowly climbed back into contention. He has 3.5

              • The round after a bad loss is always a telling moment. Lets hope Faustino Oro has his head back on straight.

                • There was a glitch in the reporting of the Yip Woodward game in rd 6. It was reported as a draw and according to the site I saw finished as a draw just over a 100 moves. In reality the game went on and on with Yip trying to give perpetual check and on move 131 she blundered and lost.

                        • Rd 7 Masters Keymer just fell apart (as White!) against Abdusattarov. In the middle game two dubious moves and a blunder and the endgame was easy for Abdusattarov.

                          • Rd 2 Masters Gukesh's previous round loss definitely affected him and Giri was all over him.

                            • Van Foreest had all the right pawn lever play and finished with nice piece play.

                              • Erdogmus beat Erigiasi in fine tactical style sacking the exchange and using the two bishops. The endgame with the advancing rook pawns reminded me of vintage Spassky. Erdogmus is the real deal!
