  • Pragga continues with his theme of posing bizarre tactical solutions to positional problems but his opponent Erdogmus has already developed a fine nose for smelling out wrong continuations. Be interested to see how this plays out.

    • Another fascinating game is Aravindh - Erigaisi. Black is up the exchange but his king is caught in the center. White has better piece placement, pressure and active knights.

      • In the Niemann - Van Foreest game both kings are loose. Does Hans have confidence in the endgame? - or will there be an interruption before then?

        • Keymer's playing of the position is ugly but practical. At any rate it seems to be headed for a draw.

          • Chucky's move accuracy has hit 99%. He has the two bishops and a rook on the seventh and is positionally large.. Hes not just hot, he's on fire!

            • Oro is a bit cramped but he's solid.

              • Ivic has one passed pawn on the seventh and one in the pocket and thats too much. Black (Roebers) resigned.

                • Maurizzi continues to weave his magic, this time against Lu. In the final position the threat is stronger than the execution.

                    • Unfortunately Oro was reduced to total passivity. The final position shows both knights on the edge of the board doing nothing. Fantastic game by Andy Woodward!

                        • Erwin L'Ami's desperation tactics netted him nothing but a big rook down against Assaubayeva, so he resigned.

                          • In the Masters Hans Niemann's extra two pawns gave him no advantage as his king position was too weak. Draw.

                            • Aravindh's play started out looking brilliant but because of flawed execution ended up drawn.

                              • Bluebaum's enterprisng play faltered to Nguyen's counterplay. His critical miss of 30.Nf4! which would have dashed his opponents hopes ended up with him having to force a draw. Tactics, young man, critical tactics! Must be seen.
