Last round Challengers Chucky won on demand in the last round! Wow! What a run he has had! 6 wins and 3 draws in nine games. since L'Ami stopped him in rd 4.
Chucky has finished with 9.5 out of 13 (+6!) and in another tournament would have won the tournament easily but here Andy Woodward could do him one better!Comment

Suleymanli had a great tournament and was leading until the last round where it all came apart for him and he lost to Ivic. Still, he ended up with 9 points (+5) and it may be the best 3rd place finish in Challenger history!Comment

Last round Challengers Andy Woodward has done it! He wins in the last round against Erin L'Ami and has won clear first with an amazing 10 out of 13! (+7!). He has nine wins in the tournament and this will be memorable for him as he will qualify for the Masters next year!Comment

Such excitement in this years Challengers as for the most part it was a four horse race! - Suleymanli, Woodward, Maurizzi, and Ivanchuk and a close three player finish, Woodward with 10, Ivanchuk with 9.5 and Suleymanli with 9. and a lot of exciting games.Comment

Maurizzi basically ran out of gas, drew Oro in the last round and finished with 8.Comment

Assaubayeva did the best of the four women in the Challengers. She won a blunder fest against Panesar in the last round and finished with 7.5 and fifth place.Comment

Carissa Yip beat Miaori Lu in the last round to finish +1 . She must be disappointed in her play as she missed the GM norm and was too inconsistent.Comment

Faustino Oro must be disappointed. He had a great start to the tournament but went off the track in his sixth round game against Max Warmerdam and basically never recovered.Comment
