Rd 2 Anthony Atanasov's final position looks like an odd half castle but its pointy as the buried rook can come alive with a4! Nice game Anthony!

Jason Manley gave it a great shot all the way! Too bad he ran into the brilliant 29....Ne5!!
I enjoyed the clean strategy in the Shawn RL game.

Recently, I was asked about direct titles for the National Championships.
1. IM
- Silver/Bronze - IM norm
- 1st equal - direct IM title
2. FM
- Silver/Bronze - direct FM title
- 65% (6/9) - direct FM title
3. CM
- 50% (4.5/9) - direct CM title
The same applies for Woman titles.
Direct title means that you get it if your rating above the rating floor, which is 200 points below the "standard" requirements.
1800 for WCM, 1900 for WFM, 2000 for WIM and CM, 2100 for FM, 2200 for IM.

The 112 entries includes the Women's section. As of March 27, chess-results shows 78 players, plus 40 women - so space shouldn't be a problem.

I see the regulations mention that pairings will be published only 1 hour before the rounds ; is this the standard compared to previous Zonals? It's rather surprising to me.
Afternoon rounds have short notice, by definition. But morning rounds too?

I vaguely recall someone mentioning that the location has a capacity of 200 (do correct me if I am wrong), so with 112 players so far, I think it's comfortable : the last Pere Noel tournament at the same location had 207 players, a little more.Originally posted by Denny Qian View PostIs there any max capacity limitation for this champinship tournament ?
The more immediate constraint is the last registration date : 31st March.
