The Goderich Chess Club is proud to announce our next tournament:
The Goderich Beachside Rapid. Please see the details below:
Date: Saturday September 5th, 2026
Location: Knights of Columbus – Main Hall (Goderich Columbus Convention Centre & Banquet Hall) 390 Parsons Court, Goderich, ON
Time Control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment per move. This tournament will be CFC Rated (quick time control), and is a 5 round tournament.
Round Schedule:
Forfeit Time: 5 minutes
Sections: Open and U1700
Entry Fee: $20 and a CFC Membership is required.

For a yearly CFC junior (A “Junior” is anyone whose year of birth is 2006 or later) membership the cost is $32.00.
For a yearly CFC adult membership the cost is $48.00.
For a one time junior membership good only for this tournament the fee is $6.00 (as this is a quick rated event).
For a one time adult membership good only for this tournament the fee is $12.00 (as this is a quick rated event).
Prizes: Prizes amounts are TBD. 1st place in each section will receive a trophy. The top 3 players in each section will receive a prize.
Registration: Please send your $20 entry fee e-transfer to goderichchessclub@gmail.com. Once that’s completed, please fill out the following form: Registration information. Registration will close on September 4th, 2026 at 9:00 PM.

Rating sections and round times are subject to change without notice. What you see on this page is the most current date, rating sections, and round times.
Unrated players will receive a provisional rating regardless of if they play rated players or not.
This tournament will be an over the board (not online) tournament.
Parents are welcome to drop off their children and leave, though they are encouraged to stay and enjoy the chess tournament/event. There will a waiting area for parents and for lunch / analysis.
Volunteer hours
Students that would like to volunteer can email goderichchessclub@gmail.com to connect with the tournament director to obtain volunteer hours towards the 40 hours required to graduate with a high school diploma.
