  • games analysis from National Capital Open

Hi there, John Upper has graciously compiled 29 pages worth of analysis of various games that he observed and collected scoresheets for at the National Capital Open last month.

It really is an impressive piece of work in such a short time, thank you very much John!

Some of these are being published as an article in the CFC newsletter, but if you would like the full 29 page PDF, please email myself (or I guess John) so that I can email you a copy.

    All the best, Aris.

I really adore the file-hosting service; please note other books , based upon your own search,... excellent fodder for us nontitled players; especially good imho is your endgame analysis of R and P as well as the Nand P's endgame... you sound like a timetrouble freak though:)your links on your homepage have unfortunately mostly expiredexcept for that one for a last university degree LOL..may your opponents' pawns not be passed nor protected, all the best in '10, Dave

MCC stands for Mississauga Chess CLub - where John Upper and I are members. It is located at the University of TOronto -Mississauga campus.

I was really suprised by the R+p ending so I sent it (and the Np v pppp) endgame to Karsten Muller, and he asked if he could use them in his Endgame Corner column on ChessCafe -- :D -- so I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with them (if he does manage to use them at all).

              RE: homepage

I didn't know any of my old webpages were still floating around out there -- those links are at least 6 years old, so it's surprising that any of them work at all. One thing that has changed: he thought of going to "Hamburger U" doesn't seem as silly now as it used to :o

John or Aris - do either of you have the original PGN's for the National Capital Open games (I already have the excellent PDF bulletin)? I want to add them to the CanBase database before my next update in the next few days.

                Thanks.

Hi Hugh, I don't, but John might. I kind of gratefully handed the whole initiative to him! :)
