  • North American Youth Championship coming to Canada!

As you may know, this year, the Chess'n Math Association (CMA) is celebrating 25 years of service to the chess community!

We have festivities running from Aug 16-22, 2010.

Thanks to Canadian FIDE rep Hal Bond, the CMA will be organizing the North American Youth Championship in Canada for the first time ever. While it has been in the works for a little while, we only received official confirmation today as it now appears on the World Chess Federation calendar:

It will be held in Montreal from Aug 16 -18, 2010. On Aug 19, we will have a blitz event and, double replacement, simuls etc. From Aug 20 - 22 we will have an open tournament. I should confirm all details within 10 days.

Our 25th anniversary celebrations will be held in memory of 3 people, no longer with us, who contributed greatly to our organization over the the last quarter century:

    Yves Casaubon
    Yves Charbonneau
    Paul Maisonneuve

    Sincerely,

    Larry Bevand
    Executive Director
    Chess'n Math Association
    Canada's National Scholastic Chess Organization
