Hi again, I expect that this will be my last post before the tournament begins! ;)
Please note the following points, and I wish everyone a safe trip to the event!
- Players who have not yet paid should plan on doing so (cash only) before 645pm. Anyone paying after then cannot be guaranteed a Swiss pairing, etc.
- If you plan to register/pay onsite tonight, but have not notified me, please consider sending me a quick email before 3pm, to save us both time onsite!
- If you mailed in your payment, but do not receive an email confirmation by 3pm today, then please plan on paying onsite, and we'll clear things up later.
- Please note that the playing room is different than usual. It will be the larger, higher ceiling, Canada Room, on the ground floor, still in the West Wing.
- The skittles room is also different than usual. The latest plans, which could change, are the Laurentian Room, on the second floor, near the side door.
- Player Jay Serdula will be selling his book, "The Ambition of an Aspie", chronicling his swim across Lake Ontario in recognition of Asperger’s Syndrome.
- As of the writing of this post, assuming that everyone registered attends, our numbers now stand at 57 players, and a prize fund of at least $2300!
Yours in chess,
Aris Marghetis
- Organizer/TD, FIDE Arbiter
- EOCA President, CFC Governor
Please note that we are looking for at least 3 floater players :
- floater players help the TD guarantee no “forced byes”
- floater players are paired and rated like all the players

----- they play in 0 to 5 rounds, depending on byes by all the players
----- they can be phoned/texted in the hour before every single round
----- they have a current CFC membership by the time of first pairings
if you are interested in being a floater player for this event, please apply by email
