Maybe someone know more about the book "Chess for the Beginner"?
    The small stamp says:

However, no information about authors nor a publisher.

Are there more connections to Canada?

I can tell you that the book is not in the holdings of the National Library of Canada, the Library of Congress, the British Library, or the John G. White Collection in Cleveland. There is a book of the same name by Iqbal Krishna, published by Orient, but the cover is different.

      Thnx.
That is really a back cover :) The front cover has no "Printed in Canada".

The "illustration booklet" has mysterious "No. 316" on page 5, and many photos with chess sets and pieces. Those "chess pieces illustrated throughout this book may be obtained at your local gift and hobby shop, department store or stationary store". Probably it was a flyer for an unnamed distributor or manufacturer.
      Sets:
      C440 Gallant Knight Chess Set
      E40 Florentine Antimony Chess Men
      etc

      There are 64 pages :)
