I'm glad to see Anand win. I never liked Topolov.

The strategy that Anand used is pretty amazing! Long term positional plusses (the a pawns plus the WS bishop on f3) and a bizarre Q trade on a3 to completely randomize the position and throw Topalov out of book!

It was certainly interesting. The doubled (and isolated) a-pawns are of course a long term positional minus that flipped flavour to a plus after they became passed pawns and then undoubled to boot! They did unbalance the position completely. Did Topalov really need to undouble these pawns?
