  • Grandmaster Pascal Charbonneau to be guest of honour

at the Chess'n Math 25th Anniversary celebration on Sunday August 22, 2010.

Pascal Charbonneau started playing chess when he was a student at Mont Jesus Marie School in Montreal. He took lessons with Chess'n Math and went on to become a Grandmaster and Canadian Champion. Chess'n Math organized a Canadian tour with Pascal in 2006. You can see details at: http://www.chesstalk.com/tour/ Today he lives in New York City.

His father, Yves Charbonneau, was the president of the Chess'n Math Association for 16 years. He was a great help to me over that time. Cancer took him from us 3 years ago. We will take this opportunity to launch the "Yves Charbonneau Fund" to help talented youngsters.

Details of the event will be posted here shortly.

The Chess'n Math Association is proud to announce that 3-time Canadian Chess Challenge grade champion, International Master and Canadian Olympic team member, Igor Zugic has confirmed that he will be in Montreal for our 25th Anniversary celebrations!

In response to my e-mail to him he said:

"I have lots of good memories from Chess'n Math tournaments"

He had to rearrange his schedule...which he has managed to do!

    TOTALLY AWESOME!
