  • The GTCL Cup Competition - Final

The final will start ~7pm tomorrow (June 1) at the Willowdale Chess Club (4169 Bathurst St. (Earl Bales Park), Noth York, Toronto)
The defending champion, Chess Academy of Canada (CAC), will meet Knights of Chess, who defeated Willowdale Chess Club with a crushing result 15-1.

Both teams have many titled players:
The former Canadian Closed Champion, IM Nikolay Noritsyn will lead the CAC players with the help of their captain, FM Michael Barron. On the other side, we might see two times Ontario Open Champion, GM Bator Sambuev with the current Toronto Closed Champion Victor Plotkin.

The Cup format is the Scheveningen system with four players per team, a time control G/15 min. + 5 sec. per move.
