  • Guelph Olympic Waive now serving 20

We are pleased to have 20 players now preregistered for the Olympic Waive Tournament. That means another $400 so far for the Olympic Fund. You can still avoid the late fee at the door if you email me by midnight June 5: halbond@sympatico.ca

Mr.Gashgarian is still the highest rated, I wish at least a couple stronger players would show up.

Also, is this tournament active or regular rated?

also, why did my rating change by a point randomly? chess.ca said 1850 now it says 1849. I have not played in any new tournaments is this a glitch in the system of something?

I believe that can happen if/when events are rated out of order.

By the way Adam, I see you are from Brantford and played in the OHSCC. Do you mind if I ask what high school you go to?

        Thanks.

No I don't mind, I go to assumption college school. I was particularly happy with my draw against NM Jerry Xiong in the OHSCC, which was quickly evened out by blowing a drawn ending against Paul Gelis.

Pretty cool! I went to BCI, played in three OHSCC myself. Do they still run the County Champs? ACS somehow always managed to play well against us despite being much lower rated in general.

I believe they still do run the county championships. I played in it last year and got 7.5/8 to win the individual prize. The chess club at ACS has died out this year, so I couldn't go to the county championships, but I managed to find out info and send a application to the OHSCC to play by myself.

wow and he just won OYCC U18, so he is even stronger then his rating shows.
