  • FIDE elections update

    Both teams seem to be currently focusing on Central and South America

    Kasparov and Short visited Nicaragua. Three countries have signed:

    Ilyumzhinov is headed to Costa Rica

    Karpov has released his platform. He has announced a VP, WGM Alisa Maric. He has until the end of this month to complete his ticket.

      Until he announces his ticket, he is not a really a candidate. Only then will we know if Karpov nomination will be challenged in court, or simply ruled out of order by the Incumbent.

      I do hope that by the time of the CFC AGM, the legal status of Karpov's candidacy will be clear.
