      Hi all,

I have not been able to get back into reporting mode. Thanks Vlad for posting the link.
We had 75 players, considerably lower than expected. Combination of factors, particularly with Canadian Open coming so soon, as well as CYCC taking place in Windsor, and lets not forget the world cup.
In any case, by average rating this was the strongest Open section we've ever had at a HH event.

Congrats to IM Leonid Gerzhoy who swept through the field with an impressive 2800 performance. There was a 4-way tie for 2-5 place with Roman Sapozhnikov, Arthur Calugar, Alex Martchenko and Laszlo Bekefi.

      U2100:

Daniel Abrahams and Alexandru Florea drew each other, winning all other games, with Daniel finishing on top as he played all 5 games.

      U1800:

Stuart Brammall entered the tournament late, winning all 3 games. Pahila Ezekiel and Kevin Wan also finished tied for 1st with 4 points each, not losing a game and drawing each other.

Tian Lan took first place with 4 points and without losing a game. 2-4 were Sergey Noritsyn, Jeffrey Lee and Alexandre Michelashvili

Very lively weekend with tons of music and street festivals going on in the downtown area. Although warm, the temperature was quite pleasant in the Great Hall and its high ceilings. Skittles was done outdoors under the shade.

Thanks as always to Bryan Lamb for making sure everything run smoothly as always. Also thanks for helping out: Abeer Rahman, Stuart Brammall, Bill Kim, Kig Ng, Day Milman, Roman Sapozhnikov & Geordie Derraugh.

I posted a couple of games on chess5, and will try to post more later.
