              Re: The Kitchener Chess Festival

Quick question about SWOCL Grand Prix, when does one year end & the next begin? What is the first tournament of the cycle and when is the last? I always get confused about when it starts and ends. Is there a website for it?

Zeljko, the SWOCL Grand Prix typically ends with the Hamilton Summer Open each year. For the 2009-10 cycle, it seems this was selected as the starting point, meaning that the Kitchener Chess Fest should be the capstone.

SWOCL does have a website: http://chess.servegame.com/swocl/news.php. While on the topic of websites, I should also point out that the OCA's website is live and up-to-date: www.chessontario.com.

The grand prix cycle ends with the Kitchener Chess Festival.

The Hamilton Summer Open starts the new grand prix season.

I believe that has always been the case. The updated grand prix standings will be posted on SWOCL site within a few days.

In the past it always ended with the Guelph Pro-Am International and began with whatever the next tournament after that was hehe. But that was a while ago.

Hello, I just wanted to check if my request for a round 1 bye was received. (Although, due to a change in plans, I may not need it - I will let you know as soon as possible.)
