Does anyone have the game Barrios vs. Yoos?
I forwarded the moves to Yoos-Barrios to the CFC online magazine. There were also other non-Monroi games submitted which were awarded honourable mention by the Judges Dobrich and Day. Today finished entering them:

      Sohal, Tanraj 1-0 Mo, Kevin
      Bharat, Arjun 1/2-1/2 Zybura, Andre
      Racher, Sean 1-0 Stanimir, Ilic
      Barrios, Felix 1-0 Krnan, Tomas
      Wiebe, Daniel 0-1 Bowles, Charles
Yee, Lorne 1-0 Qin, Zi Yi (Joey)
      Coren, Daniel 1-0 Rotaru, Dan

Anybody else had any exciting games that they would like to add to databases?

The brilliant move is 14.e5! Then 14..Nfd5! was necessary although somewhat better for White. In the game White can go for the King but prefers to trap the Queen.
Theoretically 13..Ne5, temporarily blockading the e-pawn, looks like the best chance to make the variation viable. Shabalov and Kudrin have played this "Dragodorf" but Black has to be very careful as Yoos' incisive play demonstrated.

What about David Lavin? Didn't he get a brilliancy prize just for showing up at the blitz tournament.

He was quite brave to do this; considering that he declined the "past-president" position due to his emotional frailness after losing to Eric Van Dusen in a tight race for last years president.

            David Lavin

            Hi Paul:

I think it would be good to have people know that although David declined to sit on the executive, he has been a relatively active governor ( he's a governor as a past president in the last 5 years ). He has posted on a couple of items in the past year, fairly regularly monitors the CFC discussion boards, and attended the Spring Quarterly on-line meeting in April.

So we did not totally lose his expertise last year.

It seemed from my outside viewing that numbers of people were pleased to see him attend the blitz.

            Bob

              Hi Bob,

My jabs are all in jest (look at some of my other posts in the last hour or so); just trying to liven up the board a little. I am glad that David is contributing.

              Regards,
              Paul
