  • 2010 World University Chess Championship

In a field topped by Wang Yue, who sits at a lofty 2732, Raja Panjwani has decided to follow up his efforts at the World Junior Championship with a showing at the 11th World University Chess Championship in Zurich. After losing to a 2504 from Georgia in round two, he bounced back against a 2186 to currently stand at 2.0/3. A guy by the name of Mikhail Botvinnik is lurking in the shadows, but, sadly, he isn't quite the contender his namesake would have been. You can follow the tournament here.

      20. Nf4 followed by Bg6 maybe. I enjoyed playing through that section of the game. After that blacks games seems to melt.

No rest for the wicked! You are hardcore. Maybe Michael could annotate it in depth for ChessBase News, if he has time to look at chess outside of his duties.
