  • Ottawa Chess in the Library Grand Opening Event Report

In short, the first class of the Chess in the Library program in Ottawa was a huge success. Topping off at 28 people with 12 others on the waiting list, the class went very smoothly and superseeded my expectations. The ages ranged from grade 1 to grade 10 and included kids of many different levels.

I want to thank David Li and Liban Farah for a great job in helping me out. Without them, the class wouldn't have been as smooth. Again, I want to thank Gordon Ritchie for his generous donation that started this program and made the class even possible. :D

Finally I would like to reinforce the point that any donation (clocks, money, pieces, boards, books) would be very helpful and my team and I would greatly appreciate it.

WOW this is excellent news, Joey! The turnout was definitely way better compared to the very first session of Chess in the Library in Toronto. Keep up the great work! :)
