  • Falling Leaves Swiss at the Scarborough CC

The Scarborough Chess Club kicks off the final tournament of the 2010 calendar year tomorrow (Thursday, October 28). This 7-round tournament, the Falling Leaves Swiss, is in 3 sections: 2000+, U2000 and U1700 (players within 100 points of the rating limit can play up a section if they wish). The tournament that just completed, the Howard Ridout Memorial Swiss, had over 90 players in the 3 sections.

The Falling Leaves Swiss is free to play in for all Scarborough Chess Club members who hold a valid CFC membership. To avoid potential problems when we are submit the results to the CFC for rating, we ask all participants to ensure that their CFC memberships are valid through December 16, 2010 (the last day of the tournament). CFC memberships can be purchased or renewed at the club (cash or cheques only). Players with expired CFC memberships will be given a bye rather than being allowed to play. Players can check their CFC membership status at http://www.chess.ca/ratings.shtml.

If you'd like to enter in the tournament and have not already signed up, you can avoid the last minute rush by emailing me at skarpik@sympatico.ca.
