Hi chess friends, I met with staff from the RA Centre tonight, to plan the configuration of the playing room. Please note the playing and skittles rooms will be the Courtside rooms for this event, in the East Wing. In other words, we are playing at the opposite end of the building from the regular Bytowne rooms.
We are now at 62 players. I figure that if we get 6-8 more players at the door, that we should achieve the 5 full sections, a prize fund of $3000-$3100, etc. For players who plan to pay onsite at the last minute, please consider advising me by email beforehand, which will save us both valuable time onsite, and will give me more time, ahead of time, to plan how to distribute the expected prize fund, etc. All players who pay by 7pm are guaranteed a Swiss pairing.
If by some chance someone has mailed me their payment, but their name is not included in the player list below, please email me right away about that!
I expect to arrive at the RA Centre on Friday between 5pm and 6pm. If anyone would like to help me set up, please feel free to meet me there, LOL! ;)
Yours in chess,
Aris Marghetis, FIDE Arbiter
